Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-25

This policy explains what Word Puzzle Kit does — and does not — do with information when you use the site. In short: the tools run in your browser, and your puzzle inputs are not sent to us.

What we process in your browser

Word lists, grids, letters, clues, and any other input you type into a tool are processed entirely on your own device using JavaScript running in your browser. This content is not transmitted to our servers, stored remotely, or shared with third parties. When you print, save an image, or copy a result, that happens locally too.

Local storage on your device

To remember your preferences, the site stores a few small, non-sensitive values in your browser's localStorage. These never leave your device and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings. They include:

  • your light/dark theme choice;
  • a short list of recently used tools;
  • the last settings for some tools, to save re-typing;
  • your cookie/consent choice, once you make one.

Long or sensitive inputs are not saved permanently by default.

Advertising

This deployment does not currently show ads. If advertising (such as Google AdSense) is enabled in the future, ad partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads, and this section will describe that in detail. Your puzzle inputs would still never be shared with advertisers.

Analytics

We use a privacy-conscious analytics configuration (with IP anonymisation) to understand which tools are used, so we can improve them. Analytics never receives the contents of your puzzles, word lists, or searches — only aggregate page-usage signals.

Children's privacy

The tools are suitable for classroom and family use and do not require an account or personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
